Meet Anja Oss: The first recipient of the Highline Academy
Future Teachers - Kelly Linderman Scholarship!

We are excited to announce Anja Oss as the recipient of the Future Teachers scholarship. This was the scholarship's first year and created in honor of Kelly Linderman, a teacher who was passionate about equity in education. We admired the achievements of all applicants, and after careful consideration Anja was selected.

Anja graduated from Highline's Southeast campus in 2012 and from Thomas Jefferson High School in 2016 with a 4.5 GPA. Anja is currently pursuing a  Master's degree in Special Education.

It Was Meant to Be
"I received the title of 'most likely to come back and teach at Highline' in eighth grade...now it is an actual possibility! Thank you for recognizing the contribution teachers make in our society and helping me to complete my education!"

Anja's Vision
"The top goal I have in pursuing a career in education is being able to fully integrate special needs students into classrooms and make accommodations available at all schools for all disabilities."

Anja's letter of recommendation from a community member stated: "Anja portrays all of the attributes of a world citizen. She is very loyal to her family, friends, and community. Anja volunteers and gives back to her community daily. Whether she is teaching Sunday School at her church or volunteering at a community event, she is most certainly an involved citizen." We are pleased to award this amazing young woman with the scholarship that carries on the legacy of Kelly Linderman's dedication to excellence in education.
